For 2008 the FIM and ACU have introduced new sound levels of 94 dba for fourstrokes and 96 dba for two strokes. All new models should comply to this new level, however older machines should also comply with these new regulations and riders need to address this by looking at aftermarket or enduro silencers for their machines, if the manufacturers 2008 systems do not fit the older machines.
With many tracks under threat, clubs must try to keep sound levels under control at their events and riders, teams, parents, mechanics and sponsors must accept self policing where sound is concerned.
I think common sense will tell you if your bike is too noisy, Silencer need to be repacked on a regular basis.
